First entry?
I keep writing and deleting journal entries. Partly because I'm embarrassed about writing something stupid (which I will learn to get over), but also I'm not used to writing. Both in general and longer entries. I think because of social media crap I'm used to writing quick short things I just think of in the moment. So when I try to write longer, more serious stuff I still tend to write quick little blurb entries in one go. They end up rushed, jumbly, forced, or I don't like the topic after the fact. So that's a habit I would like to break.
I don't think I'll end up writing more consistent "how my day went" entries. Maybe. I think what will work is keeping a word program up, working on a thought or two for awhile, then post one if I end up happy with it. Not in a "my post has to be completely perfect" sense, more like "gimme a second to think of the word I mean, and elaborate a bit more" kind of way.
Eventually I could get better to be able to just barf something out and feel ok with the entry, but for now this is working. Well, the writing part at least. It's been a couple days since I started this idea, but I'm having fun writing and editing a couple different ideas. This could just be long-winded way of saying "I am going to practice writing" but I'm not a writer (yet) so I wouldn't know about any of that.
Hopefully, I get somewhat ok at writing longer stuff, cause lately I have been thinking about when I used to write essays in school. Stress aside, there was something really nice about creating essays. Picking some thought or point to make and blabbing on about it. Researching what you blabber about to make it professional sounding blabber. I already have some topics in mind too, I can't wait to see where this goes.
Side-note, I also don't know how to touch type or whatever its called, and I want to work on that as well. I just learned to be really fast at two-finger typing.
